Art and Inclusion Involvement Studio WONDERful

 

The studio was founded in 2012 at the initiative of Vita Lototska and Iryna Maksymliuk. The main goal is to research issues of inclusion values in the contemporary society. Among the tasks, the organizers give priority to volunteer work consisting in developing a creative artistic environment for orphans with disabilities and designing social advertising, websites, adaptive programs aimed at attracting the general public to the inclusion issue.

Since 2015, the studio has been working with the Ukrainian Charity Network charitable organization. The studio’s comprehensive program is aimed at social adaptation of orphans with disabilities by means of art, revealing their creative potential and the opportunity to realize themselves as individuals. Studio activists implement the program through creative classes and master classes in drawing, sculpting, and designing, organizing exhibitions of works of both children with disabilities and charitable exhibitions of professional artists. The studio’s attention is focused on the Kolomyia and Zaluchchia orphanages, the Pohonia psychoneurological boarding school, and the Abode of Faith, Hope, and Love, a home for orphans with disabilities.

Projects of the Art and Inclusion Involvement Studio program include

– painting the walls of the rooms in the Zaluchchia orphanage, implemented by students Maria Fitsyk, Oksana Semeniuk, Stanislav Leibiuk, Vitalia Havryshchuk, Viktoria Havryshchuk, as well as painting the Ivano-Frankivsk Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children, performed by student Ruslan Burchak; a series of photo shoots of children from Zaluchchia orphanage by Andrii Kalyniuk, postgraduate student of the Department; students Maria Fitsyk, Oksana Semeniuk, Stanislav Leibiuk’s participation in arranging exhibitions of creative works of orphans and students Olha Dudiak and Maria Fitsyk’s participation in organizing charity fairs.

Significant exhibition projects with media publicity have been implemented:

The Story of One Flower (March 24 – April 10, 2015), Bastion Fortress Gallery, Ivano-Frankivsk.

Within the Boundless (November 19 – December 20, 2015), Precarpathian Museum of Art, Ivano-Frankivsk. The project brought together in a collective exhibition the works of nineteen professional artists and foster-children of the Kolomyia orphanage. The charitable aspect was implemented in the format of an exhibition and sale of works of fine and decorative-applied art, the money being donated to create an art-therapeutic space in the orphanage. Among the artists who joined the campaign were Nadiia Babii, Oksana Beilakh, Bohdan Boichuk, Bohdan Brynskyi, Bohdan Hladkyi, Vitalii Horodetskyi, Bohdan Hubal, Volodymyr Kindrachuk, Rostyslav Kudriavtsev, Halyna Lazanovska-Hrebeniuk, Taras Luzhnyi, Volodymyr Lukan, Svitlana Povshyk, Volodymyr Sandiuk, Lidia Stefanyshyn, Viktoria Typchuk, Svitlana Khmil, Oleg Chuyko and Olha Yamborko.

Unresolved Feelings (June 18 – July 3, 2016), Bastion Fortress Gallery, Ivano-Frankivsk.

100 THOUSAND HOPES (February 24 – March 8, 2017), Bastion Fortress Gallery, Ivano-Frankivsk. An exhibition of photographic portraits and creative works of orphans with disabilities living in the Zaluchchia orphanage. The author of the photo portraits is Serhii Horichok.

Bird (March 2 – April 25, 2019), Ivano-Frankivsk Mariyka Pidhiryanka Academic Regional Puppet Theater. Painting exhibition by Uliana Belei (Zaluchchia orphanage boarding school) and Liubov Orobets (Pohonia psychoneurological boarding school).

WONDERful (November 7 – November 22, 2019), Precarpathian Museum of Art, Ivano-Frankivsk. Painting exhibition by Uliana Belei and Liubov Orobets (the Abode of Faith, Hope, and Love, a home for orphans with disabilities).

Sunny (November 19 – December 19, 2021), Center for Extracurricular Education Cultural and Universal Territory (СUT), Ivano-Frankivsk. Painting exhibition by Uliana Belei and Liubov Orobets (the Abode of Faith, Hope, and Love, a home for orphans with disabilities).

As part of the program a creative charity project Postcard, which has meaning not only for you and me is being implemented, a nonprofit project Charity Auctions (volunteer coordinator – lecturer Vita Lototska) was launched to provide children and young people with disabilities with opportunities for integration into society through the results of their creative work. Information about the project is made public on the website, designed by lecturer Oleksandr Haleta.

The implemented charitable projects and activities of the Department include:

Design of the art therapy room interior of the Kolomyia orphanage (designers – Yulia Hranat, Khrystyna Rymarenko, supervisors – Associate Professor Vasyl Khomyn, senior lecturer Vasyl Salabai).

Design of the park area of the Pohonia psychoneurological boarding school (designers – Vasily Zeleniuk, Iryna Doroshenko, supervisor – Associate Professor Vasyl Khomyn).

Landscaping project for the Abode of Faith, Hope and Love, a home for orphans with disabilities in the settlement of Obertyn, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast (designer – Liudmyla Shkolna, supervisors – Professor Oleg Chuyko, Associate Professor Vasyl Khomyn).

Master’s project Humanization of Design under Conditions of Inclusive Communication. Creating a Series of Social Content Posters (designer – Liudmyla Okhvat, supervisor – Associate Professor Nadiia Babii).

Lecture course Inclusion in Educational Institutions for teachers of Kobzaryk pre-school educational institution and students of the Department of Journalism of Vasyl Stefanik Precarpathian National University (2019, Ivano-Frankivsk) – Associate Professor Nadiia Babii, volunteer Zoriana Hubal.
